What to expect during the consultation:
-Provision of consultant medical opinion to referred patients
-Patients can also be referred to Schedule V
-MCC have access to all specialized investigations at Mater Dei Hospital eg CT scans, MRI, Echocardiographs, etc.
Eligibility:
-Patients referred by their general practitioners: either from the Health Centres or their private GP’s.
ECG Interpretation
The ECG (electrocardiogram) is a special test used for studying the heart.
Eligibility:
-Patients can be referred by their general practitioner for an ECG.
-Patients can be referred by the Health Centre medical officer or their private general practitioner.
Adult ECG’s are interpreted by the consultant physician at the MCC, and a report issued to the referring doctor.
History
The medical consultant clinic (MCC) was established in 1996 to set up provision of consultancy in medicine in the community.
It was initially operated in Mosta and Paola Health Centres.
Subsequently, it was introduced to all the health centres.
It is currently run by three Medical Consultants:

-Dr Myra K Tilney
